邓小平时代的终曲枣南巡：1992
一代人之前的 1965 年，毛泽东对自己不能全面控制北京的「资产阶级」政策而感到不悦。他无法在中央党报《人
民日报》上传播自己的观点，便在上海的《文汇报》上发表了一篇文章〈评新编历史剧《海瑞罢官》〉，次日该文又由
上海市党报《解放日报》转载。然后，71 岁的毛泽东乘专列去了南方的杭州、韶山和武汉等几个城市，为 1966 年发
动的文化大革命点火。
这个故事在 1991 年又重演了一次。当时邓小平对北京保守的经济政策也感到不快，可是他对这些政策又不能完
全说了算。他无法在《人民日报》上表达自己的观点，便把它登在另一家报纸枣上海的《解放日报》上。可是 1991
年这把火并没有点着，决心已定的邓小平在 1992 年又点了一把更大的火。他以 87 岁高龄，乘专列南下，先去武汉，
然后是深圳、珠海和上海，他在这些地方成功点燃了扩大市场开放和加快发展的大火。
1988 年通货膨胀引起的恐慌，北京当局在 1989 年 5 月军事戒严失败后的几近崩溃，苏联和东欧政权相继垮台
的新闻枣这一系列事件使北京变得近乎绝望，气氛高度紧张。陈云仍是谨慎的计划官员的核心，邓小平则吸引着大胆
主张扩大开放、加快发展的人。在 1970 年代末和 1980 年代初，建设派大多是从事引进新工厂和新技术的中央干部，
到 1980 年代末时，沿海地方政府已积累起自己的财富，形成了更强大的势力基础，使邓小平能够用来对抗谨慎的计
